- Artist Statement: Photography has percolated throughout my life, from elementary school to the present, including my TBZ membership years from ~2000 CE. Abstract geometries, light & shadow, reflections, & textures dominate my images of urban & rural landscapes—architecture, seascapes, flora, fauna, portraits, & the street. My objective is to establish a shareable memory, based on a personal vision—how I connect, objectively or subjectively, with what may be a unique instant in ongoing creation. When I release the shutter, I have already edited away the extraneous details and sometimes the context. On a photo-shoot, I am unencumbered by heavy or bulky equipment, rather using a small camera that can be instantly retrieved & activated to capture a fleeting image or a candid moment, whether “low-hanging fruit” or inspired serendipity. I want the viewer to see, ponder, question, & feel the images that I capture in & beyond the city.
