- Artist Biography: I’m a Boston native, having grown up in Canton and Needham. I now live in Roslindale, MA. I got a degree from Barnard College in environmental studies and urban planning, with a minor in dance, and I was ordained at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in 1995. After many years of chaplaincy training, I was board certified in chaplaincy in Aug 2019. I now work as a chaplain for Hebrew Senior Life. I am a jewelry designer, potter, composer, mobile-maker and an organic gardener. I am passionate also about interfaith dialogue, seeking connection through the richness of difference. I’ve been a member of TBZ since 2002. I am proud to say that Rav Claudia owns one of my colorful necklaces!
- Artist Statement (optional): I love the play of color and shape, texture and balance in the innovative work of Mondrian, Kandinsky, Arp, Moore and Calder, among many others. I tend to want to take in art in a tactile way, so my own work — in pottery, jewelry, mobile-making, garden design — involves more than just the visual. In striving for grace and balance, I’m often looking at contrast and connection, fluidity and stillness. My works in this show are among many I have made, and all are for sale.
