  • Artist Biography: Literature, Theatre and the Visual Arts constantly weave through my life and lift me. Growing up on the Indian Ocean in Port Elizabeth, South Africa I was surrounded by glorious nature reflected in vibrant African art. It was thrilling exploring the world around me in painting classes at the Ruth Prowse School of Art during undergraduate studies at the University of Cape Town. While teaching English at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, drawing classes at The Israel Museum were a great joy and inspiration. I continued taking painting classes and also discovered my passion for ceramics after moving to Stony Brook University where I taught acting and teacher education. Since coming to Boston in 2005 and becoming a member of TBZ, I’ve worked as a communication coach helping my clients powerfully articulate their messages in presentations and interviews.  It is through art that I find great personal expression and I love filling our home with my pottery and paintings as well as sharing them with others.

  • Artist Statement: Time collapses and hours feel like seconds when connecting color to form and painting on any surface that welcomes spontaneous decoration and design.  As a studio member at Feet of Clay in Brookline, I exhibit a variety of stoneware vessels as well as candlesticks, challah platters and hamsas. Clay constantly calls and I’m always excited to see my expression take shape in textured ceramic pieces and glazes that surprise.
