- Artist Biography: I was always a shy child. My family recognized my artistic ability, I was always drawing. My art was shown at West Virginia University when I was in 5th grade, so it was a source of pride for me and my parents. I have always wanted to paint more- and now, with COVID-19, I am finding more time. Unfortunately, I felt that I had to retire from dentistry due to my age plus the high risk to the dental team.
I miss my work, but my art still gives me the joy of creation. Upon seeing all the racism in our land, my art
has been a source of therapy as well. Before the pandemic, I enjoyed going to the Isabella Stewart Gard-
ner Museum, The Museum of Fine Arts Boston, The Metropolitan Museum of Art (NYC), and museums
wherever Kemper and I had traveled. I’ve been a member of TBZ since 2002. I hope everyone is keeping
healthy and sane during these difficult times.
- Artist Statement: Each work of art is my attempt to reinforce the beauty in the world.
